Introduction

Vision: To become a well organized, standardized and quality blood service based on 100% voluntary, non-remunerated blood donations.

Recognizing the importance of blood adequacy, availability and blood safety, Ministry of Health, RGoB has incorporated “provision of an adequate supply of safe blood and blood products, and their safe and rational use” as the integral part of national health care policy and health care infrastructure.

It has established a National Blood System that is recognized through the formulation of the National Blood Policy, standard setting, supporting strategic and operational plans and establishing appropriate regulatory requirements. The system is operational through two main components.
